This Arenal Combo Tour known as the MAMBO COMBO includes two of the most preferred activities for adventurers. Exciting memories are waiting to be made descending tropical waterfalls in an activity known as Canyoneering. Located in the depths of the forest is a magical location filled with impressive views the sounds that only nature can gift us. Afterwards we will continue with the descent of the Class II & III Rapids of the Balsa River.

Canyoneering aka Waterfall Rapelling

We start around 7:00 am (the exact time depends on the location of your hotel).

Professional guides and high quality safety equipment will allow you to descend various waterfalls. We start the smallest falls so the excitement builds up. Continue hiking into the forest to discover a second waterfall of approximately 150 ft or 45 meters.

This is an activity that will push you to the limits; you’ll have to use your strength to ascend and descend, leap into pools of water, and relax at the waterfalls.

There are a total of four descents; the best is saved for last on a 200 ft. or 60 meter tall waterfalls that will give you the maximum excitement.

A ten minute hike will take you back to your transportation to the second part of the tour.

Class II & III Rafting on the Río Balsa

In the second part of this Mambo Combo you’ll tour one of the most beautiful rivers in the zone—the Balsa River. Nature and adventure combine for a real adrenaline rush.

After a safety overview from one of our expert guides we’ll start the fun: descending the river’s class III rapids.

Halfway through the tour we’ll stop to take in some delicious seasonal tropical fruits and enjoy a drink and swim in the river.

The tour continues with the Class II section of rapids that will allow you to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, listen to the howling monkeys, as well as different species of birds. At the end of this adventure on the Río Balsa rapids we’ll take you to a good restaurant to enjoy a delicious typical Costa Rican lunch.
